Description
Materials
The container body is constructed from 18-8, Type-304, 20-gauge (1.0mm) stainless steel with a satin-finish, featuring drawn, one-piece, seamless construction. The back plate is made of 22-gauge (0.8mm) stainless steel with an attached 20-gauge (1.0mm) stainless steel mounting bracket; both the body and back plate are epoxy-sealed to prevent warping and leakage. The concealed wall plate is fabricated from 20-gauge (1.0mm) stainless steel. The valve assembly consists of a black molded plastic push button, a soap head-holding mushroom valve, a stainless steel spring, a U-packing seal, a duckbill, and an antibacterial-soap-resistant plastic cylinder. The unit is equipped with a plastic soap refill-indicator window and a locked, hinged stainless steel lid.
Operation
The corrosion-resistant valve is designed to dispense commercially marketed all-purpose hand soaps. To prevent corrosion, use only chloride-free, pH-neutral liquid soaps; do not use iodine-based soaps or alcohol-based sanitizers. The valve operates with one hand, without tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist, and requires less than 5 pounds of force (22.2 N) to comply with accessible design guidelines. A window on the front indicates when a refill is required, and the locked, hinged lid opens for top filling using the special key provided.
Installation
Secure the wall plate to the wall using the furnished screws at the designated points. Slide the container’s mounting bracket down onto the wall plate and secure the unit with the furnished locking-screw. For plaster or drywall construction, provide concealed backing to comply with local building codes prior to securing the unit. For other wall surfaces, use fiber plugs, expansion shields, or 1/8” (3mm) toggle or expansion bolts. The dispenser should be surface-mounted plumb and true, with the valve positioned 6” (152mm) to the right or left of the lavatory center, and a minimum clearance of 4” (102mm) provided from the lid to the underside of any horizontal projection. For ADA/ICC accessibility compliance, install the push button at a maximum height of 48″ (1220mm) above the finished floor for a 20″ maximum reach depth, or 44″ (1120mm) for a reach depth between 20″ and 25″. For California Building Code (CBC) compliance, the maximum mounting height is 40″ above the finished floor.
